The State of Bandew444s

July 21, 2010

If you are a constant reader of Bandew444s or just come here from Google to look at all of our demotivational posters, and keep checking back for new ones, then you may be wondering why there has been such a lack of posts for the last two months. I haven’t forgotten about the few, and maybe none, of you who like this site and continue to come back for more. You may be someone who knows me, a friend of a friend, or someone who just found this site. Either way, I would like to thank you for the view. Bandew444’s, for the most part, has been and will continue to be a one man operation. Hopefully following the footsteps of one of my favorite sites, The Oatmeal, which is also run by one guy and gets about 40,000,000 views a month. Bandew444s has always been very small. As of right now, 10:45 PST, I have received a total of  105,929 views. Not bad, considering that I have never had any advertising, a good website name, any decent supporting writers, any real help at all, only selling two t-shirts and having 2 failed sites to back this one up and create a network to boost views. I don’t know what I’m going to do after August 29th, the day my domain expires. I don’t think deleting this site and never thinking about any thing website related again is an option. I will most likely come up with a new name and start all over. Bandew444s opened a door for me and now I’m sure I can deal with something with more views that requires more maintenance. I’m going to give you the opportunity to vote on what I should do next. It’s hard to say goodbye to something I’ve put so much work into, but as of August 29th, 2010, Bandew444.wordpress.com will no longer be frequently updated. All of my attention and effort will go into another site, and I hope everyone who likes Bandew444’s will be able to enjoy the new site twice as much.

Two Years

April 1, 2010

On March 31st, 2008, I was messing around on my computer and somehow ended up with Bandew444’s.Two years later our stats are up 7,000 %, and I am predicting by the end of the year, they will double. I just want to thank everyone who has supported me and the website for the past two years. Lots of changes will happen in the next year. I’m not sure what just yet though.

Demotivational Posters #4

February 27, 2010

I was looking through the stats today, and realized the first three “demotivational poster” postings are making up about 1/3 of the weekly views for B4. I figured another installment of this series was in order, so here it is.

App Of The Week #5

February 11, 2010

This weeks app is ESPN ScoreCenter. The ScoreCenter app allows you to see all the scores from all the games you want to see divided by league. All of the games are divided into an easy to understand layout.  If you are like me, and are always out during football games or can’t catch a baseball game, then this would be the app for you. With real time updates, you always have the most current score. You can also use the ESPN Mobile Web feature to see every aspect of the game from recent plays to the field view. The favorite teams feature is my personal favorite part of this app. You pick your favorite teams and go to the league page , and your team is highlighted right on top. I would highly suggest this app if you are even a casual fan of any sport.

LT Throws in the Towel

February 5, 2010

Well, what we were all expecting is finally here. Yesterday LaDanian Tomlinson said he doesn’t want to play for the Chargers anymore. In a radio interview this week he stated that he felt disconnected and questioned the commitments of some of the players. If you can’t tell, he doesn’t want to go quietly.

“I don’t know what it is,” he said. “We’re (at) the point where these guys that come into the league, it’s not about the same values no more. It’s not about football, the things that you’re taught — faith, family, football. To them, it’s notabout that no more. It’s the name … It’s ‘me.’ And that’s the thing that’s so disappointing to me, because I can’t deal with that no more. If that’s going to be allowed I just can’t deal with that type of stuff.”

Co host Scott Kaplan of the “Scott and BR Show” on XX Sports Radio asked LT about his disappointment as a team leader, and in some of the things in the Chargers playoff loss.

“Some of this I feel like is taken out of my hands,” Tomlinson said. “You said a leader and all this kind of stuff, but there was a big part of this year, where for whatever reason, I didn’t feel connected as far as the team, the unity, togetherness, family. I didn’t feel that at times in the season. There were times that I did. But I’m saying that was a problem in the locker room, I felt like. Just my opinion.”

Tomlinson said he was as happy this season as he had been in some time, saying he felt the current Chargers team cost him his best chance at a Super Bowl. A playoff loss, a game in which the team committed numerous uncharger-like mistakes, changed his thinking.

The way I think of it, it would be tough to be LT. He used to be the face of the Chargers. The Chargers were HIS team. But, now Philip Rivers is the team leader, and LaDanian is no longer as big of a name as it used to be. I don’t think he wants to take the pay cut, or share the stardom either. When you think San Diego Chargers, you don’t think LT anymore. You think Philip Rivers, Darren Sproles & Vincent Jackson. That would be hard on any declining NFL stars ego.

I don’t know what us football fans are supposed to think. I don’t think the Chargers will be a very different team without him, as he wasn’t getting a lot of playing time anyway. Maybe the Bolts wont choke this year.

App Of The Week #4

December 28, 2009

This week, the app of the week is one of my favorites. In Labyrinth 2 you tilt your iPhone or iPod Touch to get your ball into the right hole. Sounds simple, right? Well, that’s not all. In the all new Labyrinth 2 there are many more features than in the original Labyrinth. There are cannons that will blow up your ball if your not careful. Magnets can pull you into cannons or holes and make you start all over again. If you go through the laser walls you set off sirens and doors close. There is now also a feature where you can go online, enter a couple codes and create your own level packs. There are thousands of level packs to download. Though, there are tons of packs to download, I’d suggest finishing all of the official level packs. Official meaning created by Illusion Labs. I’ve created my own level packs before, and the online creator is really easy to use and i had my 6-level pack done in ten minutes. I bought this app as soon as it came out, and I would highly recommend buying it if your are a fan of the original Labyrinth, or are looking for an amusing and challenging game.

The Jeary is Closed… Forever

December 28, 2009

Sorry to the fans of The Jeary. Due to time constraints… at least that’s what i heard… thejeary.wordpress.com is closed for good. Just like i said before about Pappercut, though that site is closed, Bandew444s will be here for a long time to come. I am even working on upgrading the site.

RIP – 12/28/2009

App Of The Week #3

December 18, 2009

This weeks app is an app I find very handy when your on the go, and you need your Mac in your pocket. This weeks app is Remote Tap by ReadPixel. You can see your Mac screen from anywhere. Just set up your iPhone (or iPod Touch) to the wifi connection that your Mac is on and it will automatically get all the settings. This app is one of my favorite apps on my phone because you get all the features that you would if you were sitting at your Mac. You can do Photoshop, listen to iTunes or surf the web. One feature this app does lack, however, is the ability to stream video. I’ve tried this many times, but it just never works. If it works for you, either leave a comment or send us an email at admin@bandew444.com. This is one of the greatest apps in the app store, so if you are a Mac/iPhone owner and you don’t have it… get it now! I know this is a short one… but this app will mostly be explained in the screen shots.

App of the Week #2

November 28, 2009

This weeks app is Doodle Jump. Doodle Jump is a game where you jump from platform to platform, trying to get as high as you can, while avoiding obstacles

such as black holes, UFOs and monsters. It’s actually a lot more fun than it sounds. It gets VERY addicting. You can get “power-ups” or “boosts” such as jet packs, springs that boost your jump, helicopter hats, trampolines or the newest one, spring shoes. The spring shoes are like the springs, but they stay with you for 5 jumps. Currently, the high score for this game is 1,311,248. My high score is only 51,445. I could spend all day trying to beat that score, but it gets frustrating after a while. Another great feature is that you can see all of your stats and scores, and the high scores daily, weekly or of all time. You can also connect it to Facebook and see your friends scores. Doodle Jump has also connected with two other games, Pocket God (featured in App Of The Week #1) , and The Creeps!. Characters from both of these apps have made appearances in Doodle Jump, and the Doodler has been in them. You can see screenshots of all of the games below. In Pocket God, the Doodler tries to shoot you as you do the Ooga Jump. I don’t have The Creeps! yet, but I will try it soon to see what the Doodler does. In Doodle Jump, the Creeps replace the monsters that kill you if you touch them while you are jumping. You can activate this feature by entering your name as “creeps”. If you enter your name as any of the pygmies from PG, you can jump as one! Like I said about Pocket God, this app is a must buy!
